Pinwheel Appoints Lewis Wight as Chief Product Officer to Lead Next Generation of Healthy Technology for Kids and Teens

Pinwheel Chief Product Officer Lewis Wight

AUSTIN, TX, UNITED STATES, August 20, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Pinwheel, the kid tech company behind the best-selling Pinwheel Phone, today announced the appointment of Lewis Wight as Chief Product Officer. In this newly created executive role, Wight will lead the company's next generation of products as Pinwheel expands its platform to help children and teens build healthy relationships with technology throughout their development.

As CPO, Wight will drive Pinwheel's product vision across hardware, software, AI, and connected family experiences, guiding development of products that help kids gradually build independence — in service of Pinwheel's mission to create technology that prepares kids for life rather than competing for their attention.

"Lewis brings a rare combination of technical depth and user experience judgment, and I've seen firsthand what he can build," said Dane Witbeck, Founder and CEO of Pinwheel. "We've built companies together before, and there's no one I'd rather have leading product as we enter our next chapter. Families are demanding a healthier approach to technology, and Lewis knows how to turn that demand into products they can trust."

A 15-year veteran of product development, engineering, and innovation at both startups and global organizations, Wight most recently served as Chief Technology Officer at Meshify, where he led the development of their Internet of Things (IoT) platform into a multimillion-dollar business later acquired by HSB/MunichRE. Following the acquisition, he continued leading technology and innovation initiatives while serving as Chair of HSB's Technology Advisory Board and as a board member of the LoRaWAN Alliance.

"Pinwheel has already reimagined what a smartphone for kids can be," said Wight. "As one of the earliest investors, I'm excited to now join full-time with a company that's putting families first and building technology that helps young people grow into confident, capable digital citizens. There's an incredible opportunity ahead to create products that support healthy development while giving families the tools they need to navigate technology together."

Wight joins as Pinwheel continues its rapid growth and category leadership. Recognized by Inc. as one of America's fastest-growing private companies, Pinwheel has become a trusted choice for families seeking age-appropriate technology that balances connection, independence, and digital wellbeing.
