A Book For Kids About Life Lessons—Created by a Kid: Madison Cool Launches “5 Things For Kids” and National TV Campaign
True Story- Created from principles its author developed for herself at age 10; a kid's guide to making everyday count.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA, UNITED STATES, August 12, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The newly published book, 5 Things For Kids, answers how any kid can easily understand and enjoy some of life’s biggest lessons. The 5 principles are told by Madison Bee, the original brand character that leads as a mentor and mascot and guides kids through the ideas from his own first hand perspective and experiences. — Christine Flagler
5 Things For Kids, is a book created from the author’s own 10 year old mind. It is a thoughtful and engaging guide designed to help children explore purpose, perspective, kindness, responsibility and the everyday choices that help shape who they become. The book is now being introduced to families nationwide through a national television advertising campaign.
And there’s a story behind the story: 5 Things For Kids was created by a kid.
At just 10 years old, the author, Christine Flagler, was already thinking about something many adults struggle to articulate: How do I make sure my life becomes meaningful? How do I become accomplished? What am I supposed to do to get there?
Without much adult guidance to answer those questions, Flagler created her own framework.
The principles that became The 5 Things For Kids were not originally designed as a book, a philosophy or a lesson for other children. She made them up for herself. They were a way for a young girl to give herself direction when she wasn't sure where her life was headed.
Decades later, those childhood principles became the foundation for 5 Things For Kids.
“I was one of those kids,” says Flagler. “When I was 10, I was already worried about whether my life would become something meaningful and whether I would grow up to be accomplished. I didn't have adults guiding me toward those answers, so I created these principles for myself. I didn't have words for things like self-discipline, confidence, responsibility or integrity. I just knew there were things I needed to do if I wanted to become the person I hoped I could be. What started as something I made for myself as a kid stayed with me—and eventually became something I wanted to give to other kids.”
That origin is at the heart of the book.
Rather than presenting children with complicated answers to grown-up questions, 5 Things For Kids encourages them to look at life through simple, relatable ideas and discover meaningful lessons for themselves. It gives parents a natural way to begin conversations about subjects that can sometimes be difficult to explain—while giving kids a guide they can explore on their own.
The book is part of the expanding Madison Cool creative world, built around the idea that valuable life lessons can be presented in ways that are approachable, memorable and, importantly, cool enough for kids to actually want to engage with.
Always at the center of the Madison Cool world is Madison Bee, the curious little guide who encourages children to look a little closer, ask questions and helps them think about the choices they make.
For parents, 5 Things For Kids offers something particularly valuable: a starting point for conversations that can continue long after the book is closed.
And for Flagler, the book represents something even more personal—a childhood idea that survived long enough to become a guide for someone else.
“It helped shape my life when I was young, and I still rely on it to this day,” says Flagler. “I hope it helps make a difference in the lives of many other kids, too.”
The national television campaign invites parents to discover the book and bring its lessons into their own homes.
