Indonesia Boosts Coffee Market with USD180,000 Saudi Arabia Shipment
Bagus Rachman, deputy for business affairs at the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), highlighted Indonesia’s position as a major player in the global coffee industry, noting that over 90 percent of the country’s coffee plantations are operated by smallholder farmers.
Highlighting the significance of this shipment, Rachman remarked, “Today's export of coffee from the slopes of Mount Argopuro proves that our MSMEs are capable of competing in the global market.” He further added that Argopuro coffee exemplifies how medium-scale enterprises can energize the MSME ecosystem.
Supporting this growth, data from Statistics Indonesia reveals that the nation’s coffee exports climbed from 279.94 million kilograms in 2023 to 316.72 million kilograms in 2024.
