Many Ukrainian drones shot down inside Russia
Later, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed that air defenses had taken down seven additional drones heading toward the capital. In Telegram updates, he noted the UAVs were destroyed in separate incidents and that emergency teams were attending to the crash sites, with no casualties or damage reported.
The intercepted drones targeted regions including Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Nizhny Novgorod, Crimea, Orlov, Kursk, Voronezh, Ryazan, Moscow, and Tula. Ukrainian forces have recently intensified long-range drone strikes, hitting border areas, infrastructure, and residential zones deep inside Russia.
Russia has responded with precision strikes on Ukrainian military facilities, emphasizing that its operations do not target civilians. Despite frequent drone interceptions, falling debris has occasionally caused injuries, property damage, and service disruptions. Meanwhile, Ukraine faces growing pressure to negotiate peace, with President Zelensky rejecting a recent US proposal involving potential territorial concessions.
