The summit, scheduled for August 15, will address a potential resolution to the Moscow-Kiev conflict and other bilateral issues. This marks Putin’s first visit to the US in nearly ten years.
Trump had previously confirmed that the talks would take place in Alaska, the largest and most sparsely populated US state, which was a Russian colony until its 1867 sale to the United States. Moscow has stated it expects the following meeting between the leaders to occur in Russia.
