Nepal Fires Leave Five Dead, Nearly Two Hundred Wounded
The Nepal Police disclosed that 816 separate fires destroyed properties valued at approximately 277.19 million Nepali rupees (around 2 million U.S. dollars).
The incidents led to the destruction of 64 homes, 87 sheds, and one government building, along with the loss of 77 cattle, according to the official report.
The report emphasized, “If precautions were taken, it was possible to minimize the human and material losses caused by fires.”
In the previous month—from April 14 to May 14—there were 634 fires nationwide, claiming three children and eight adults.
