Russia Criticizes Ukrainian Use of Kazakh Airspace
Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that on June 19 and 20, numerous Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were observed flying across the West Kazakhstan region, "apparently with the aim of launching strikes in Russia."
These actions, she suggested, indicated a direct intent to attack Russian targets via a neighboring nation.
Zakharova criticized the activity as a breach of Kazakhstan’s national authority, stressing that Russia and Kazakhstan are allied under the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
She remarked that "its (Ukraine's) leaders, who are so greedy for ranting about the territorial integrity of Ukraine, are indifferent to the territorial integrity of other countries, which they are increasingly violating," highlighting what she sees as hypocrisy on Ukraine’s part.
The spokesperson appealed to the global community to recognize and address the infringement of Kazakhstan’s airspace, urging an appropriate international reaction.
In addition, Russia urged other nations and global institutions to confront what it considers to be Ukrainian aggression and to reinforce strategies that promote joint security in the region.
Zakharova concluded by stating that the incident demonstrates the escalating dangers Ukraine poses to its neighbors, and she called for intensified cooperation among CSTO member states to counter these threats effectively.
