Trump Warns Iran of Severe Consequences
(MENAFN) US Leader Donald Trump issued a strong caution to Iran on Saturday, urging the country not to retaliate following American military operations against major nuclear locations.
He stated that Iran would face an unprecedented "tragedy" if it decided to launch any form of retaliation.
Trump described the "massive precision strikes" he ordered on the Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear installations as a remarkable military triumph, claiming that these sites had been "completely and totally obliterated."
Labeling Iran as "the bully of the Middle East," Trump demanded that the country pursue peace.
He warned that failure to do so would lead to even more severe and easier-to-execute future assaults. These comments were made during a nationally broadcast address.
"This cannot continue. There will be either peace or there will be tragedy for Iran, far greater than we have witnessed over the last eight days," Trump declared.
He emphasized that there were still "many targets left," and described the recent operation as "the most difficult of them all, by far, and perhaps the most lethal." He stressed that if peace is not quickly achieved, the remaining targets would be attacked with "precision, speed and skill."
He added that most of the remaining objectives "can be taken out in a matter of minutes."
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine are anticipated to make public statements on Sunday morning.
The Fordo nuclear plant, one of the targets, is a subterranean uranium enrichment complex near the city of Qom. It is recognized as Iran’s most secure and heavily fortified nuclear site, specifically engineered to endure standard air bombardments.
